From GrahamB - Republican Roman Anti Elephant Wagon (45points)

This is the first resin print for which I have actually purchased the stl files for and a mate printed for me on his Bamboo 20 printer. I know very little about 3d printing and don’t want to get a printer myself as the temptation would be be for me to print loads of stuff that will join the unpainted pile.

Here is a Republican Roman anti-elephant wagon that I picked up yesterday evening.  It has 6 crew (4 printed and 2 Warlord Caesarian Roman),  2 Oxen and the wagon itself and like many of my models features Dulux earth glaze 1 paint for the brown areas.  I haven’t had time to do my usual army painter strong tone dip so instead resorted to GW Nuln Oil to get a bit of depth and contrast to the paint.  I am very pleased with the result, especially as it was printed with a FDM printer rather than a resin printer as recommended by the designer, Resin Warfare.

6 crew, and 2 Oxen @ 5 points each and a wagon that is bigger than a 28mm tank, but I believe only qualifies at 5 points for a total of 45 points.

Well, the wagon may be larger than a 28mm tank, but man, nothing racks up the points like a cart, it seems! And so it should..."anti-elephant" duty seems like some of the worst work one can be assigned..?

"You are on anti-elephant duty!"

"Can't I just stand in the ranks with a pilum?"

"Get in the cart!"

That's 45 points for you!

  1. Great work. An interesting concept. Did it work historically? I wonder why not a Scorpio?
