From PeterM: Regiment of Austrian Cuirassiers & some more Infantry

Hi everyone again!

Here I am again something finally painted... =)

One base musketeer 11th Regiment with a pioneer in his skin apron. I love these guys ;)These are good professionals in the military sapper case. They received a good salary (many times more than the privates). In combat, their task was to destroy the small key objectives (gates, parapets, gun inventory).And he is not white like the rest, it makes me happy! (Sometimes you get tired of one white)

 And finally the last three cuirassiers base for my №3 regiments Crown Prince Ferdinand.I love the Austrian sticks for banners! (they are almost like candy ;) )

And in the end I will show you the whole regiment.

 I really like this combination - red, yellow, white and bright green! It looks very much alive!)

  

According to my calculations, I scored 120 points! 

6 infantrymen, + 9 cavalry.

From LeeH - Greek Archers and Successor Elephants (36 points)

The Challenge always proves to be a huge inspiration and spur to painting activity for me (I'm sure many of the participants would agree). That gentle combination of healthy competition and peer pressure does wonders for curing me of my usual inertia! This year has proved no exception and in under 10 weeks I have managed to paint a whole 6mm Pyrrhic army. Of course I can add a few peripheral units later on but the core of a good solid army has been finished. I'll post some pictures on my Blog in a few days but before that here are my final units.

First up two units of Greek Bowmen. These light units will provide a nice screen to my forces hopefully inflicting some damage on my enemies before the heavy infantry crash into each other.

The last units are a little special. I painted some Elephants for my army earlier in the challenge but realised rather too late that I had painted the wrong models. So I immediately went online and ordered the correct elephants from Baccus.

I decided that this time I would base my Elephants three to a base rather than two as previous. I think this looks a lot better, and certainly increases the intimidation factor when these units advance on the enemy.

Twenty four bowmen will net 12 points and six elephants each with four crew should net me another 24 points. A modest submission but every point is a step in the right direction.

MilesR: My math shows 36 points 48 inf (24 bowmen + 24 crew) and 6 Ellies.  These really are superbly done

From AlexS:Few warriors of Epirus. (230 points)

I continue to prepare by February 25, when the game will be held at the tournament system "To the Strongest!" We in the city planned a small event on the same day. And it is possible that it will take part Pyrrhus of Epirus. So I try paint this interesting and diverse army.

That's part of my job. I was inspired by the work of LeeH and EricM. I thank them for inspiring examples of the miniatures for a given period.

 Hello Challengers and Viewers!

We had another great theme round with an abundance of evocative terrain highlighting the topic of 'Home'.

The entries this week ran a wide range of topics. A Roman camp and farmstead. A space habitat of the far future. There were several poignant entries depicting homes in ruins, highlighting the sobering cost of war on civilian life. Also there were also several light-hearted submissions with ghosts and gouls haunting homes and mausoleums, and even a very odd statue in the jungle. (Doh!)  My thanks to all the participants who made the round a success.
