From Millsy - 28mm Warhammer Savage Orcs (75 points)

Now that the first crazy challenge week and bonus round number one are out of the way I've settled into something more akin to my normal routine of painting i.e.) one to two hours a night after work each night.

First off the table this week is another unit of Savage Orc Arrer Boyz for my rapidly growing army of the same. These chaps are the original Perry sculpts and anyone who knows me knows just how much of a sucker I am for anything that they sculpted for Games Workshop.

This unit comprises 15 archers including a full command of leader, musician and standard bearer. They've got purple face paint to represent the fact they hail from the Purpul Peepel Eatas tribe (sic). That's 75 points worth of orcish goodness by my count. Hope you like em!

From Curt:
Haha, I love these guys Millsy. The purple ('purpul') facepaint is excellent and I like the stark burnt-out groundwork. Like you, I've always liked the stuff the Perry's sculpted for GW - from looking at their current ranges I think they are suffering their 'retirement' already. Great work Millsy, this will see you just enough points to slip past Dave into first place. It looks to be developing into a exciting race between the two of you.

  11. Outstanding work! Those Purpul Peepel Orcs are a terrifying sight indeed. I really love those old models as one can clearly see the 'soul' they have compared to the newer computer drawn bull****.

  12. With that warpaint I'd say their leader must be Wiwyum Wallus with his feirce war-cry, "Dey can take our knives, but dey can nebber take our flea-bombs!" (He do talk a lot of nonsense!)

    Lovely work, Millsy!

    1. Haha! You're clearly thinking along the same lines as me. I have a hero in the works who will be going by the name "Thraka Zooloo"...

  14. As I've said before, your Orcs are some of the best I've ever seen. The way you do that face paint is most impressive!

  15. Thanks for all the positive feedback folks! I'm working on another batch at the moment. I'll do an army shot as part of that post so you can see the rapidly growing rainbow of face paint colours...
