From DaveD - Redcoats...(40 points)

The Sudan project has seen lots of muted colours , browns, khaki's etc and I wanted to add in some extra colour. The era covers the last battles where the troops were ordered to wear their more traditonal red coats - after all what better to frighten the enemy eh. . So here I have the the skirmish open order company for an up and coming big British battalion.

These are the first appearance of the new Perry plastic British infanty - which give some real opportunity for different poses and conversions. Long term however the delicate bayonets I am sure will not survive contact with the "enemy" - mahdists or wargamers!.

"just pop over that hill  lads and see if you can see anything...."

Someone tell "Admiral Douglas" he is going to need to warm the Machine Guns up!

MilesR: Dave - a nice thin red line - given all the sudanese you've painted you might need a few more redcoats...

  4. Love those red coats, they look amazing.

I am so weary of things turning to plastic...stuff with bayonet is exhibit "A"...but well done, and I am looking forward to seeing this battalion. Assume it will be ready for next week...

    1. Yep, I also did them with warm brown undercoat which has helped the red pop. Oh yes... but I think the horde may have more trouble with there close order mates...
