From ReillyOG: Sons of the Silver Sword (30 points)
To go with my Legion of the Bronzed Hammer unit (submitted for the Armour bonus round) is my second Heavy foot unit of Dwarf warriors: The Sons of the Silver Sword! Finished just in time for this week's entry (the bases are still wet!)
Again these are old Chronopia figures for use with Dragon Rampant. I have mostly used dry brushing over a black undercoat, using GW Dwarf Bronze and Boltgun Metal colours. For the Blue features I used Vallejo Prussian Blue and Prussian Dark Blue. Thats 6 x 28mm figures for a total of 30 points.
Alan and Paul: Great work Reilly! I love these Chronopia dwarves with their pig-snout helmets. The combination of the silver armour with the blue and yellow looks really good. It will be a genuine pleasure to crush them on the battlefield and hear the lamentations of their women.

Nice work Reilly :)
ReplyDeleteBases still wet? Hooboy, we've all been there...
ReplyDeleteBut don't worry, it doesn't show! These are very nice figs, not your typical fantasy dwarves; nicely done!
Very cool
ReplyDeleteOh, I do like this armor. Nice job painting them up.
ReplyDeleteGood work on these Dwarves. Wet bases are a familiar challenge!
ReplyDeletewet bases are the best kind... good job
ReplyDeleteGreat job on these Reilly!
ReplyDeleteThese dwarves are the epitome of heavy armour - in DR terms they will definitely qualify as Elite Foot. I like the way the blues work with the silvers, and the gold standard is a brilliant focus for the unit. Lovely stuff.
ReplyDeleteCracking work.
ReplyDeleteExcellent dwarves Reilly! I really like the metalics you've used on these (those snout-helms are awesome).
ReplyDeleteOh I love those models! Excellent work on the armour
ReplyDeleteLove the work on the metal, great effect

ReplyDeletegreat stuff, the armour is really shiny, well done!
ReplyDeleteNicely done, Magnet
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely not sold on the miniatures themselves but your painting is above any doubt. Well done on all that armour!
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be a lot of Dwarfs this year. THAT IS NOT IN ANY WAY A COMPLAINT! Excellent work on the stunties, they make me want to drink beer and smash heads!
ReplyDeleteWell done Right Stuff, these look great ! :-) looking forward to seeing more as your army grows
ReplyDeleteCracking good job on these most excellent of miniatures Reilly. I need to get a wriggle on or you will soon have more painted Chronopia Dwarves than me.
