So I am waiting on my terrain's oil washes to dry still.. so while waiting for it all to dry I got out the other War of the Roses regiment and got it finished..
A simple color scheme here for an unnamed lord to lead his troops into battle.
The lord with his retainer in horseback, and then his lesser lords on foot to lead the troops in battle.
I picked green as an easier color and one that was easier to make for clothing. To represent him being maybe a lesser lord of maybe lower standing.
The standard units of bowmen here to cover the advancing billmen.
And the billmen to advance up the field.
This now gives me 4 lords, each with 24 billmen and 24 archers as a minimum. Plus a few units of Men at Arms, and a unit of Pikes.
The fun units are left being crossbowmen, gunners, knights, and artillery.
But for now..
2 mounted troops 28mm - 20pts
52 foot infantry 28mm - 260pts
Total 280pts
And now to finish up the terrain bits and get them posted here also!

Kyle, dude, you are absolutely on fire with your painting these past 10 days! Amazing. These guys look greentastic and ready to fight for one Rose or another. This all being said, you definitely need some banners for all these chaps as they look a bit lost without some brave flags to fight under. Still, this is a stonking bit of work! Well done.

ReplyDeleteReally nice green and tan combo. Quite striking. Will look great on the wargames table
ReplyDeleteThanks. It's looking good in comparison to the other 3 lords regiments and really stands out. Let's see how all the mercs go when I tackle them!
DeleteThey look great and very effective on the board. Are you going to slow down your painting in 2023? :)
ReplyDeleteShort answer. No. Long answer.. probably.. am just riding the mojo train while I can and while work is quiet. Let's see how Jan/Feb goes though.
DeleteNice greens
ReplyDelete@Curt. Indeed they need banners. Was thinking the same while seeing them alongside the older units. But that's a research while working task not a paint while work is quiet task ;) Priorities as one might say.
ReplyDeleteLove that green. You are a painting machine Mr Lee!
ReplyDeleteThanks Peter. Am trying to do as much as I can before work resumes in January. I know how bad my schedule can get at times.. though I do hope to still have energy to keep up a decent pace here.
DeleteBanners and bases are what stands out more on a table, I agree with Curt. Having said that, very nicely done, the green color is outstanding
ReplyDeleteAre the bases bad then? Agree on the banners but as said that's more a work research thing and I am more wanting to get things done while I have time/energy.. gotta paint while the painting is available. Thanks for the comment. Am glad the green is well received considering it's Ok Flesh Contrast by GW 😅
DeleteNice work, Kyle! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff Kyle!
ReplyDeleteI like the colour combination. A fine looking force for the tabletop. Well done.
ReplyDeleteWow, you are smashing these out.
ReplyDeleteThanks mate. i am trying before work starts on Tuesday ( or later depending on how this chest infection goes.. )
DeleteWow,Kyle! That green is certainly eye catching and very smoothly done. Those are some excellent figures!
ReplyDeleteGreat production Kyle. The colors are wonderful and the numbers amazing. Keep it up.
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping I can!
DeleteA very effective colour scheme, I really like it. The lord and his retainer on their base look very good. They green lance is a nice touch. Well done Kyle!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I do need to add banners as mentioned before, but already they are looking coherent at the very least. Need to get the full forces out and onto the table for a photoshoot. Motivate me to get the rest of them finished up!
DeleteGreat looking force Kyle!
ReplyDeleteSome very nice (and fast) painting here, well done
ReplyDeleteThat's a solid base for an army right there, keep up the good work!
