From Barks: AHPC XIV retrospective

I'm glad I take pictures of what I've painted; I was reviewing them and had already forgotten about stuff I painted a few months ago!

My output was a bit down; my excuse is a baby. Here's Furiosa learning the ropes:

Did you know you can use your painting area for heating food?

I also had an accident with the wonderfully named 'Murder Scene' SpeedPaint:

It cleaned up OK!

It's always enjoyable to participate with you all and get the motivation to paint odds and ends. Looking forwards to AHPC XV!

  1. Your output might be a bit down, but there is still lots of it and nice variety. SpeedPaints might be quite expensive for painting floors... Though I guess Furiosa might have different ideas in the near future. :)

    1. Thanks, Teemu! Hopefully that will be the least of her transgressions.

  2. Well done on what you did get done Barks. Getting anything done with a newborn is impressive. I particularly like your Halo Jones.

    1. I'm really keen to get to grips with more of those fun Stargrave kits.

    2. They are nice kits. Plus you can kitbash them together with the Frostgrave ones to make all sorts of results

  3. Lots of very nice models and scenery this year, quality must count over quantity, at least in my view. I see that you are introducing the padawan into the ways of our hobby, well done !

  4. Some great looking projects on display. I agree with Benito regarding quality versus quantity. My output last year was down, but painting Rohan Royal Guard takes more time that squads of Soviet infantry. ; ) Painting while carrying your wee one reminds me of something from a Blackadder episode - "We must return to Scotland and you must fight her in the old Highland way -- bare-breasted and each carrying an 8-pound baby.”

  5. Amazing work while training an apprentice. Though you are a braver man than I to paint in the kitchen.

  6. Great work here Barks but your associate seems a bit disengaged with the process. Hopefully we'll see an improvement in Challenge 15 :-D

  7. Excellent work again this year Barks, but the 1:1 model surely is the best! Wouldn’t put her on the table yet though. See you next winter!

  10. Nice work Barks, but how did you get permission for the photo, painting while holding your daughter?

  11. Terrific work Barks. Thank you for joining in again this year. Furiosa is awesome. Now only time will tell if she calls you 'daddy' or 'blood bag'.

    Witness!!! :)

  12. Excellent work Barks and congrats again on parenthood. My experience is that the first 28 years are the worst. I’ll know who to call if I have to clean up a murder scene.
