Voting Results for the 4th Theme Round: 'Myth'

Another fortnight, another gallery chock-full of wonderful thematic submission from our talented Challengers. This week the theme was was 'Myth' and we were treated to subjects ranging from Minotaurs to Mumaks, Cthonians to Cave Trolls - a veritable smorgasbord of creatures and personalities of mythic legend.

The voting statistics speak volumes in of themselves. It was another incredibly tight race with only 7 points separating the 10th position from the 2nd (the reason why we have seven runners up this round) AND we had a tie for four of those positions. Amazing work people!

Anyway, not to tarry, I'll move on to announcing the runners up.

SanderS 'The Reason Why'

PaulS 'Werewolf'

AlanD 'Fate is Everything'

RichardC 'Jason Battles the Skeletons'

AaronH 'Mumak'

Millsy 'Pegasus'

MartinN 'Merlin'

In Third Place (and 25 bonus points) we have ByronM's wonderful 'Steampunk Little Meremaid'.

Second Place was a tie between BrendonW's 'Valkyrie and Norn' and StefanK's 'Thor, The Mighty God of Thunder'. Great work guys, you'll be both awarded another 50 points to add to your tally.

And finally, in First Place for the second consecutive week we have MichaelA with his fabulous 'Jabberwokky'!

Congratulations Michael! On top of your well-earned 75 bonus points you'll be receiving a gift certificate from the ever-awesome Kawe over at Westfalia Miniatures. Again, thanks for giving us a glimpse of the dreaded 'frumius Bandersnatch'!

  2. Wonderful work everyone, and very worthy winners in the top places. I think this was my favourite bonus round so far, with so many excellent beasts and Gods and lovely little vignettes. I'll certainly be buying one of those Little Mermaid figures at some stage, but I don't think mine will end up looking anything like as lovely.

    1. You deserved it Brendon. I tell you what, the Fantasy painters at Reaper Forum would have loved this. If you posted this over there, they'd be asking you to come back and show more of your work.

  9. This has to be my favourite round to date. Seeing all of you historical painters pick up these fantasy pieces and do them so well was a real treat.

  12. I can't tell you just how thrilled I am with this news, such a welcome boost during a particularly virulent outbreak of 'real life' at work. Well done everyone who submitted work for a truly stunning round of entries. My apologies for the falling off of posts and comments, I'm still lurking in the shadows, but will hopefully be back on track soon.

  13. Well done to everyone who took part. This was may favourite round so far, as it tested me with such things as 28mm multi-part plastic figures - you would not believe just how far a skeleton's foot can ping across a room while you try to glue it!!!

Very well done Micheal, I know how much trepidation your lump of heavy metal initially filled you with. Brilliant basing as usual.
