The Norman Knight kit is great value as you get 15 inside and a casualty. Most cavalry sets are usually 12 like the FireForge mounted Mongols. Hopefully by the end of this challenge I complete the rest of the Normans from the box and more Mongols.
All the Norman shields are hand painted designs. The shield with the boss is actually one from the infantry set as the mounted ones are boss-less and slightly larger overall.
I have plenty of half painted miniatures on my table so next Tuesday might be a slightly bigger submission if all goes well. The way I work it's not unusual to have spent an Hour and a Half painting only to have to used two shades of brown. Oh well.
Cheers from Brendon

Very nice work Brendon :)
ReplyDeleteA splendid job on them all. Such a clear contrast between the Normans and the Mongol. But all look absolutely splendid.
ReplyDeleteReally nice work - the weather beaten shields are brilliant.
ReplyDeleteLovely job, very nice
ReplyDeleteLovely work on these horsemen.
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Very tasty!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking figures Brendon.
ReplyDeleteI really like subdued and weathered colors, Brendon! They still look vibrant and colorful, but a more real world matt-finish without the gaudy bright. Very effective! ;)
ReplyDeleteWell done!
ReplyDeleteGreat work Brendon - I really like the horses in particular. Should say the shields stand out too - great stuff.
ReplyDeletePretty nice!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking cavalry as always Brendan. Kudos for the shields with distress marks.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking work, the colours and basing really compliment each other

Can't fault your work on the shields, Brendon - cavalry are always tricky for me, but if I could do horses half as well as you have, I'd be happy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice comments folks. cheers
ReplyDeleteLovely work as always Brendon. I actually thought the shields were transfers, they are so well done.
ReplyDeleteNice work Brendon and I quite enjoy the appaloosa horse!
