From MattW: Germanic Tribesmen part two (180 Points)

 Germanic Tribesmen

Another two units of tribesmen for the Germanic tribe collection. The normal problem of getting them to fit onto the tight 60x60 bases, being the big challenge with the Warlord Games figures so quite a few have been chopped to drop arms or added green stuff to make them stand taller,  some Victrix arms and weapons were also added.

Again the miniatures are again a mix of Foundry and Warlord Games with Warlord Germanic and Victrix heads. The shields are all LBM transfers and hand painted metal wicker shields with hand painted runes.

28mm miniatures x 36 miniatures @ 5 points = 180 points

cheers
MattW

You've certainly been busy over the past week! These Germans look fantastic, but I'm sure you will need lots more to match up against your huge Roman legions.

  1. Another fabulous band of ancient Germans. The extra work you've done really has paid off. Well done.

    1. I am getting over them, trying to fit the last three units onto bases, I have had to cut up some assembled to drop the wide arms then assemble another four, plus green stuff some too straighten them up.
Should be completed them by tomorrow to commence painting for next week, then some cavalry, slingers and archers.
I also will complete the last two studios before I enter the directors chair.

      Cheers

  9. Fine work Matt. I really struggle to paint barbarians...takes me forever, even in 10mm, so I have a lot respect for those of you who manage to do it, and make it look nice!

    1. Irregulars are difficult to finish, that is why I tackle them in mid sized groups, but the warlord figs can be difficult to mass up on bases without a lot of surgery
