Germanic Tribesmen
Another two units of tribesmen for the Germanic tribe collection. The normal problem of getting them to fit onto the tight 60x60 bases, being the big challenge with the Warlord Games figures so quite a few have been chopped to drop arms or added green stuff to make them stand taller, some Victrix arms and weapons were also added.
Again the miniatures are again a mix of Foundry and Warlord Games with Warlord Germanic and Victrix heads. The shields are all LBM transfers and hand painted metal wicker shields with hand painted runes.
28mm miniatures x 36 miniatures @ 5 points = 180 points
cheers

You've certainly been busy over the past week! These Germans look fantastic, but I'm sure you will need lots more to match up against your huge Roman legions.

Another fabulous band of ancient Germans. The extra work you've done really has paid off. Well done.
ReplyDeleteI am getting over them, trying to fit the last three units onto bases, I have had to cut up some assembled to drop the wide arms then assemble another four, plus green stuff some too straighten them up.
DeleteShould be completed them by tomorrow to commence painting for next week, then some cavalry, slingers and archers.
I also will complete the last two studios before I enter the directors chair.
Cheers

ReplyDeleteThanks Simon, very happy how they are coming along
DeleteLove the shields, they'll be great opponents for the Romans.
ReplyDeleteLots of pine trees and a deep forest coming right up!
DeleteThis project is really amazing
ReplyDeleteThanks mate
DeleteMore lovely barbarians! You've had me browsing the Victrix ancients range, very dangerous, lovely as always!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
My 600 odd Gauls are victrix, the Germans are the same except different heads, although they look good
DeleteGreat stuff again - cheers JezT
ReplyDeleteThanks Jez
DeleteCrickey! Great job once again Matt!
ReplyDeleteThank you Paul
DeleteFine work Matt. I really struggle to paint barbarians...takes me forever, even in 10mm, so I have a lot respect for those of you who manage to do it, and make it look nice!
ReplyDeleteIrregulars are difficult to finish, that is why I tackle them in mid sized groups, but the warlord figs can be difficult to mass up on bases without a lot of surgery
DeleteExcellent work and love the extra you take with putting them on massed bases. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThank you Bruce I am happy how they are coming out that is for sure
DeleteWonderful Teutonic Horde, love the runes on the shields and the brass standards and horns
ReplyDeleteThank you Peter, there is a chap here in france making the brass standards and horns...... I would like some for the war room I think.
DeleteWonderful barbarians, Matt! I like the animation and colors to the blocks of infantry. The shields are wonderful like the last ones too! Go ahead and expand the bases a smidge....I won't tell! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks David
DeleteNice spear chuckers
ReplyDeleteCheers Dave
