From JonathanO: Aramean Light Infantry (40 points)

This unit of Aramean infantry will form part of a Babylonian army to oppose my Assyrian army.

These 8 x 28mm figures are from Warlord Games.  The figures are on a 120mm x 60mm unit base.

That will add 40 points to my total.

My Race to 800 Points duel with ScottM is really no contest as Scott has 676 points to my 243.

Nice work on these spearmen and the basing works well with them.

  2. Love the chunky base, very biblical looking and suits the figures very well. It looks thicker then the typical 2mm MDF most of us use?

    1. Thanks Simon. Yes, the base is 1/4 inch thick. Scott cut a whole load of bases for me so I am using them for my Assyrians and enemies. We are using these unit bases for Impetus, Sword and Spear and other rules.

  3. Hi like the figures and basing - I have Hittites from Warlord and using for Basic Impetus. Very distinctive unique basing but looks good.

    1. Thanks, Jez. I had the Warlord Hittites and Egyptian bronze age figures too and was going to do Basic Impetus armies with them, but in the end I traded them to a friend. Cheers, Jonathan

  4. Ah Impetus...I'm always tempted, but then scared away by the basing...but your brushwork looks great, well done!

    1. Thanks Curt. Yes, I think a bit of highlighting would be in order before I spray on the varnish.

  10. You know, I quite like the black spears; I've always done mine a warm grey. The splashes of colour in the hats and the sashes contrasts nicely with natural tones of the skin and basing.
