From Codsticker: Bloody Miniatures Moss Troopers (Caprica) (40pts)

A second early detour into my ECW figures, this time another blister from Bloody Miniatures: The Moss Troopers (BM009).

Having left Arda I have landed on Caprica. What makes these figures appropriate for Caprica is their description from the Bloody Miniatures webstore:

"A rapacious gang of brigands, freebooters, broken men, or discharged and destitute soldiers turned to banditry and ambuscades."

As per the last batch, wonderful faces, details and the size of these figures makes them easy to paint.

I tried to take a little more time on the faces; I have found my ability to get the small stuff right has gone downhill in the last 10 years though.

I have got a bit better handle on the new camera too although I am still not thrilled with how the Macro setting works.

So we have 4 28mm figures @5 pts each, plus the 20 pt bonus for Caprica = a whopping 40 pts (MilesR I ain't).

From Millsy:

Oh yeah! Another great horde and musket submission with your wonderful staging and photography Rob.

I'm finding the Bloody Miniatures stuff a real treat every time I see them. Despite there being loads of nice miniatures for the period these have been crafted so they are a great addition to the existing offerings. The way you go about painting them is a great testament to how much character and detail these have if you are willing to put in the time and effort to bring it out. I dispute your assertion you have trouble with the small detail!

Can't wait for the next instalment. I hope there is one!

  11. Well done Rob and some lovely photography to show off your fine brushwork. I thought for a second these were old west figures, but I guess desperadoes are found in every period!
