I would like to dedicate this post to my nephew Simon McGoldrick who died suddenly on Sunday leaving three small girls and another on the way, a dutiful son, great father and husband and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
Here is the next instalment of the Great Napoleonic Russian Paint off.
This is the 27th Division part of Sackens Corps 1813. This division consists of 3 brigades, 2 infantry and 1 Jager, along with Skirmishers, Generals and attached Artillery battery unfortunately the skirmishers and generals are not ready yet.
I have taken on board the advice after the last post and am trying out utilising a black background.
So the first Brigade is of 3 Battalions of Jager's from the 49th and 50th Jager regiments. All figures are resin from MC miniatures and each Battalion is 96 models.
2nd Brigade is of 2 line infantry Battalions representing the Vilnius and Sibirsk regiments.
3rd Brigade is again consists of 2 Line infantry Battalions, representing the Odessa and Tarnopol regiments.
and rear
Attached Artillery is a light battery of 3 bases each of 2 guns with 6 limber teams. All my Artillery batteries for the Russians will be 3 bases of both guns and limbers representing a 12 gun battery. In my club rules artillery are very expensive and a Russian army can end up very small if you are doing historical orders of battle. Again all figures are resin.
Limbers
and Guns
So i just need to finish the Skirmishers and generals and then on to the 16th Division this is a small division with just one brigade of 4 line Battalions and attached artillery battery. Then its the Cavalry and if i have time yet another Russian Infantry Corps.
Although i have been asked to paint some Austrian 6mm army whose battalions are 142 figures per battalion.
Points to be claimed
Infantry - 672 6mm figures at 0.5 pts per figure = 336pts
Artillery - 6 guns at 1 pt each and 36 gunners at 0.5 pts each = 24pts
Limbers - 6 guns and 6 limbers 12 mounted drivers 12 limber horses = 30pts
Total to be claimed = 390pts
I'm very sorry to hear of your loss.
