From MartinC: BFH (320 points)

DaveD and I have amassed large Vietnam War collections and over the summer plan to run a game in Scarborough. For those of you who don't know Scarborough, Yorkshire, it is a victorian seaside town that has seen better days. In a distopian future it will be the place were we are governed by our seagull overlords.

The game is going to be massive on 2 24x6ft tables. So we need a lot of terrain, 48ft of jungle is loads. One of the prblems with big games is that the hills are too small and I had a plan to build a massive hill/valley that spanned the table and really broke up the terrain. Actually I'm planning 3 of these.

So I built it out of 1" insulation board and a lot of tufts

It's very big, the base layer is 3 2x2ft sections, with 2x1.5ft layer above and smaller topper pieces. Will add extra variable height to the top but ran out of insultation board

stream section

It's long but a bit bare

but much better covered in jungle

So it's big - 72" long, an average of 16" wide and 3" high which is the equivalent of 16 terrain cubes, or 320pts.
The bad news is that I'm off to buy more insulation board and this is my 1st of 3 posts today

Well, that's certainly a very big hill and well designed for playability. And you're planning to make another two of these? Cripes!

  5. It’s massive and you’re doing three of them! Between you and Yarkshire Ken it appears Northern Lads tend to go big.

It looks great and I want one!

  6. Great battle board! Sounds like that dystopian future will not be much different from today, then.
