Hope you all had a good, if slightly weird, Christmas. I've been cracking on with the Dunsterforce and have now finished all the infantry, for now.
Infantry section of 9 (see previous for the 10th). Mix of Copplestone and converted Warlord plastic 8th Army figs (freebies in Wargames Illustrated)
And another one
And this gives me 5 sections
2 Vickers machine guns - Copplestone only come with 5 figs and I converted one into a Lewis gunner so the 2 additional figs are plastic 8th army and a Partizan freebie (previously painted)
Curtgeld is always tricky, a delve into the lead pile and I found this guy
Private Dumas is a 1930s French Foreign Legionaire from Artizan Thrilling Tales
Tried to give him an Arab scarf but he looks a bit like Rupert the Bear.
Scores on the Doors
25 infantry = 125
2 prone figs = 5 pts
2 machine guns = 20
2 gun crews = 20 (3 + 2 prone)
1 Curtgeld = 25
=195pts
Lovely work on these figures. Nice one.
ReplyDeletecheers
DeleteI really enjoy your Dunsterforce figures Martin, awesome!
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteNice additions to your growing Dunsterforce
ReplyDeleteAlmost finished, had some stuff already. Don't want to make it too big but you know how it always ends. I'll have loads of the buggers
DeleteGreat work Martin. Really like the blue shirts and khaki shorts combo.
ReplyDeleteCHeers, formal dress for geologists
DeleteThese look super. I like the fact that you are doing conversions and making use of other figures for this project. "Rupert joins the Foreign Legion" - a Thrilling Tale indeed.
ReplyDeletecheers, I do like a bit of tinkering
DeleteNice work on these! Especially the Curtgeld (though am lacking understanding on what that is :D ).
ReplyDeleteCheers, understanding is not my thing
ReplyDeleteGood stuff Martin. I too have Monsieur Dumass in a Desert WWII force of legionnaires. His cravat is not as fancy as yours. :) I have a mix of Artizan and Pulp figures in the force.

Cheers, They are very nice, and interesting figures, have quite a few from the old Northstar Lucky Bag days, do love a lucky bag
DeleteWho doesn't need Dunsterforce in their lives, lovely stuff 👍
ReplyDeleteRegards KenR
Cheers, I have spent a long time not collecting WW1 figs, these will work nicely
DeleteLovely bunch of Dunsterforce chaps and smart use of the 8th army freebies!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Cheers, do love a freebie
DeleteI quite like the Vickers team!
ReplyDeletecheers
DeleteYour force is progressing quickly and looks great.
ReplyDeletecheers
DeleteCracking work Martin. FYI, I'm giving out 20 points for Curtgeld so your total sits at 190 for this group. Well done young man!
ReplyDeletethanks, 2nd time I got the maths wrong on this post
DeleteLoving this project.
ReplyDeletecheers, me to
DeleteThey look great, I love this rather unusual theme. The legionaire looks rather dashing with his scarf. Still reminds me of Arafat, so despite your doubts you must have been doing something right!
