More Ottomans from Warfare Miniatures for my Donnybrook collection.
And these DO finish my initial infantry force,
Ottoman Infantry force
Unit of Elite Janissaries armed with flintlock muskets 4 models
Unit of Drilled Tufeckci musketeers armed with matchlock muskets 8 models
Unit of Recruit Segban musketeers armed with matchlock muskets 12 models
Unit of Recruit Irregulars - Anatolian or Balkan armed with improvised hand weapons 12 models
Unit of Drilled Tufeckci musketeers armed with matchlock muskets 8 models
These are my Tufeckci unit, 8 figures strong. Again it seems they were not uniformed apart from their red hats. But there's a great picture in an Osprey of them all in red, so I just had to go with that.
Tufeckci actually means Rifleman or Gunsmith in Turkish. The Tufeckci were well trained and disaplined troops.
There are 8 figures in the unit making them worth 40 points!
they look great!

DeleteGreat work Ray!
ReplyDeleteThanks Greg.
DeleteThose are great Ray, love the hats with the feathers. The red works well.
ReplyDeleteThe red does go well, I agree and the hats seem to be only worn by the Tufeckci???
DeleteWonderful job on great looking figures.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
DeleteTufeckci somehow sounds like one of those tasty turkish delicacies ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, excellent painting Ray and the red is quite striking indeed.
Mmmmm, I do like Turkish food!
