Taking a break from exploring the Chambers of Challenge, I've completed my first Napoleonic unit of 2021 with a battalion of Hanoverian Landwehr for the Hundred Days Campaign in Belgium.
These stout fellows represent Landwehr Battalion Osterode, part of the 4th Hanoverian Brigade of Lieutenant General Sir Lowry Coles 6th Division at the Battle of Waterloo.
This unit was made by mixing a box each of Warlord Games Waterloo British line and Late Hanoverian Infantry, I find the mix of shako and field cap more pleasing than all of one or the other. The second half of the two boxes is in the backlog and I hope to complete them in a future entry for the challenge.
Very Nice work!

DeleteSteadfast looking Hanoverians Paul. I like the mix of headgear.
ReplyDeleteThank you Peter
DeleteThese look ace, lovely crisp job. Not knowing much about napoleonics, these uniforms look a little more practical than a lot of other ones?
ReplyDeleteThanks Jamie, by 1815 most armies had ditched the fuss of the earlier uniforms
DeleteVery fine work Paul! The mix of headgear really adds to that campaign feel. Also I quite like the muted red in combination with their grey trousers.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Nick

DeleteExtremely nice, Paul!

DeleteGreat looking unit Paul. Dumb question...what size are the bases? Are those 40mm squares?
ReplyDeleteThank you Greg.
DeleteThey are based on 40mm x 40mm Renedra bases.
These are wonderful, Scrivs! Great wrk on these Hanoverian Landwehr, and for breathing life into one of those units we'd all love to paint. Awesome!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sidney, with three done and another one ready to hit the painting table I'll soon have a brigade of the perishers.
DeleteThose look great Paul and like others have mentioned the mix of headgear is very effective.
