First of my Republican Romans off the desk, then some medievals.
I like to paint commands first so I have some 28mm First Corps Republican Roman command. One consul with lictor and standard and one foot tribune with standard.
Next up is a continuation of my 1470s-90s Breton wars of Independence armies. This unit represents Swiss mercenaries under French leadership. 28mm Perry miniatures plastics base
Then finally a 28mm horse and mule train, a mix of figure ranges. A Mirliton miniatures horse and figure and I think Castaway Miniatures mules with scratch built saddle bags.
1 mounted 28mm @10 points = 10
15 x 28mm miniatures @ 5 points = 75
Total 85 points

Nice one! Really like the mounted Consul with his Lictor.
ReplyDeleteCheers, from memory the horse is Aventine, as the first corps ones are quite small. Hopefully this chap can lead my hapless Republicans to some sort of victory against my Gauls and Germans.
DeleteGreat variety. A big fan of those Perry plastics and the consul is aces.
ReplyDeleteCheer Peter, a big fan of Perry Miniatures, I must have at least 2 odd thousand of them.
DeleteLovely! I was just looking at some of those 1st Corps command figures, and your paint job is increasing the temptation to buy some. Do you happen to know how they would scale next to Warlord Caesarian infantry? I hear they may be a bit small by comparison.
ReplyDeleteQuite small in comparison, my first corps army makes up all of my early Republican (scipio) and my Marian transitional (Sulla), both based for eastern wars.
DeleteI purchased foundry command to go with my Caesarian army, they will be painted for the challenge this year.

Excellent! Brilliant command stands and I love the mule train.
ReplyDeleteCheers Curt, a fan of the mules myself and very happy with saddlebags I sculpted.
DeleteVery nice, I like the train!
ReplyDeleteThanks Barks, more medieval train coming
DeleteNice work

DeleteReally nice work on all of these. The mounted commander is my favourite, he looks like he is addressing the troops.
ReplyDeleteThanks Stuart,
DeleteI am a fan of the First Corps ranges, although much smaller than the current offerings they paint up well and have good detail
